Vote by mail inquiries brought up by PDP

---

This week, Popular Democratic Party (PDP) Electoral Commissioner Karla Angleró González, along with Alternate Commissioner Gerardo “Toñito” Cruz Maldonado, sought an inquiry from interim State Election Commission Alternate Chairwoman Jessika Padilla Rivera concerning alleged discrepancies found in early mail-in voting.

The PDP officials provided a list of 41 registered voters from precincts 67 and 113 in Santa Isabel who applied for early voting by mail.

“We find it extremely suspicious that all these voters requested their ballots to be sent to the same address: PO BOX 1508, Santa Isabel, 0075, despite the fact that these individuals reside at different locations within the municipal area,” Angleró stated. “This scenario raises serious concerns, as individuals with varying residential addresses have requested their ballots be dispatched to the same postal location.”

In their request, the PDP representative urged that the voter envelopes that remain unverified be securely stored until the matter is resolved — until a board contacts the involved voters to confirm the authenticity of their requests and clarify any uncertainties related to the procedure — and that the SEC chairwoman prepare a comprehensive report on the identified irregularities for the electoral commissioners to ensure an informed decision can be reached.

Cruz further noted that besides the situation in Santa Isabel, the PDP has uncovered three additional cases that warrant scrutiny.
