A 25-year-old male was taken into custody following the finding of a woman’s remains inside a suitcase-like container at approximately 1:20 p.m. on Saturday along highway PR-333, situated in front of Aurea E. Quiles School in Guánica.
As per initial reports, around 1 p.m., a group of individuals approached the police station to inform authorities about a discovery of a black suitcase-like item. Subsequently, when law enforcement officials arrived at the location, they uncovered the body of Annette Gaya Concepción, a 37-year-old resident of Guánica.
In relation to this incident, a 25-year-old man has been detained on suspicion of murdering Gaya Concepción. The case is expected to be reviewed with the on-call prosecutor for potential criminal charges to be filed.
Investigations are being conducted by personnel from the Homicide Division of the Ponce Criminal Investigation Corps along with prosecutor Patricia Lugo Rodríguez.
