Bronx, NY Tourist dies in Puerto Rico

A 35-year-old man from the Bronx, New York drowned in the morning hours of today, in the Gozalandia river, which is located in the Lechuza sector, in San Sebastián, Puerto Rico.

According to the news report, the Police were alerted to the situation at about 11:40 a.m. today.

The deceased was identified by the Police as Carlos J. Cepeda Soto.

It was indicated that the man was celebrating his 36th Bday with relatives in the area when he was swept away by the current.

The man was celebrating along with his wife and family, when the current carried him away. The man also shouted he had a leg cramp while trying to fight the current. Bystanders tried to rescue the man but were unable to do so in time.

Agent Luis Sein, from the Homicide Division of the Criminal Investigation(CIC) of the Aguadilla police area and the Prosecutor’s Office took charge of the investigation.
