The Stolen Vehicle Division of Bayamón ,Puerto Rico, at about 1:45 pm, intervened with a man identified as Luis Jampier Reyes Nieves, a resident of Villa Palmeras, for an infraction of Law 22. The incident was caught on video.
According to a preliminary report, Reyes Nieves ignored the commands of police officers telling him to stop, leaving at full speed, starting a chase along Highway 5, towards Cataño, and upon reaching Highway 6, the driver of a tow truck from the Department of Correction realized what was happening, closed the highway, but at that moment the driver made maneuvers and continued driving through the green area, not without first pointing a firearm at the agents.
Later on highway 6, at the height of the Villa España community, the subject gets off the vehicle with the firearm and a paper bag that was later found to contain controlled substances inside, being recovered by an agent. Meanwhile, the agents continued the pursuit on foot of the individual within the aforementioned community, where the arrest of the accused and the confiscation of the firearm were finally achieved.
