Police vehicle hits Motorcycle in Barrio Obrero


An accident caught on video, involving an official Police vehicle was reported last night, in events that occurred on the Eduardo Conde Avenue, in front of the Barrio Obrero, in San Juan Puerto Rico.


According to preliminary information, while a sergeant assigned to the San Juan Tourist Precinct, identified as Carlos Marrero, was traveling in an official 2015 Ford Taurus patrol car along the aforementioned avenue, when he was about to enter the area, he hit a motorcycle been driven by Axel J. Santiago, 21 years old. The circumstances of these events are still under investigation and the video might provide some info on the speed of the motorcycle.


The young man suffered injuries in this accident and was transported in a private vehicle to the José S. Belaval Diagnosis and Treatment Center, being treated by Dr. Cruz, who described his condition as stable.


It should be noted that the motorcycle involved in the accident, a black Yamaha, had no license plate, did not have a permit and the young man was not authorized to drive a motor vehicle on public roads (he did not have a driver’s license).


Agents attached to the Barrio Obrero Precinct made a preliminary investigation and is still on course.
