$650,000 in Xmas merchandise Stolen from Shipping Containers


Personnel from the Ponce Property Crimes and Fraud Division recovered 13 shipping containers, and a trailer, which had been reported stolen in different places and on different dates. They were abandoned on a site in the Cayure sector, in Santa Isabel, PR.

According to the news report from the Police Bureau Press Office, Agent Robinson Vázquez and Sergeant Miguel Torres arrived at the scene together with a representative of the RDSC Transport company, who identified 2 of the containers, valued at $50,000.00, which had been taken from a San Juan business on August 31.

It was reported that other containers belong to the Crowley transport company and had been stolen on various dates. It was not specified what type of cargo they had. Its value was estimated at around $600,000.00

Investigators did the same with other unidentified trucking companies to which their containers were returned.

The Technical Services Division lifted evidence from the scenes and is investigating.
