María Paola Hernández Agosto, 33, died last Friday of an alleged suicide, according to her husband, José J. Bobonis. However, a Leaked audio obtained sheds light on the pattern of gender violence suffered by María Paola.
The Institute of Forensic Sciences (ICF) knows that the young María Paola Hernández Agosto died of a gunshot wound, however, it has not yet been able to determine how said projectile ended the life of the mother of two girls: by a murder or by suicide.
In a press release, the director of the ICF, María Conte Miller, explained that the autopsy was carried out last Sunday by the forensic pathologist Irma Rivera, who continues the discussion of the case with prosecutors and investigators to reach a conclusion.
“The cause of death was a gunshot wound, the manner of death, which is the determination of how the death occurred, is pending the result of the expert analyzes and the investigation carried out by the police. As this is an ongoing investigation, no additional statements will be made about this case, “said Dr. Conte Miller.
The expressions of the ICF are in tune with the most recent developments in the case, since the Department of Justice, through the voice of the acting chief prosecutor, Jessika Correa González, also confirmed that the investigation into the cause of death is not limited to suicide, but spans multiple angles.
Hernández Agosto died last Friday, October 29, her body was found next to her bed in a Cupey community. At the scene, police seized a Glock pistol of 9-millimeter caliber, which was reported to be the property of her partner, who has a Firearms License.
