The men killed yesterday afternoon, Sunday, at the Puerta del Mar restaurant located in Piñones, were identified as Otoniel Gutiérrez Ramos, 41, and Michael Enrique Reyes Pantoja, 23, the Puerto Rico Police reported today .
Gutiérrez Ramos died at the facility, while Reyes Pantoja had been transported in critical condition to the Medical Center in Río Piedras, where a doctor certified his death.
Auxiliary Commander Roberto Rivera indicated in a radio interview that Gutiérrez Ramos had “a great criminal record” for weapons and controlled substances, for which it is believed he was the target of the alleged hit man. He mentioned that both Gutiérrez Ramos and Reyes Pantoja resided in Kissimmee, Florida.
Meanwhile, five people were injured in the violent incident. These were Gutiérrez Ramos’ 18-year-old daughter, a minor under 17, two business employees and a customer. All were taken to a hospital institution. The commander indicated that the young woman was in critical condition.
According to police data, a man wearing a coat, a cap and a mask entered the restaurant and without a word, he allegedly shot a family at around 6:07 in the afternoon.
