A grand jury issued an indictment against Juan Tyler López Gerraughty for three armed ATM robberies in Puerto Rico.

In a press release, US Attorney Stephen Muldrow indicated that the indictment consists of six criminal charges.

According to the investigation, López Gerraughty and other individuals drove a truck hitting the Econo supermarket in Cataño, in events reported on November 4, 2020. According to the investigation, the individuals threatened the security guard at gunpoint.

Then they attached an automated teller machine (ATM) to the truck and drove off.

A few days later, on November 13, López Gerraughty and other individuals crashed a truck into the window of the Toral garage in Cataño.

After an employee was threatened at gunpoint, the group tied a chain around the ATM machine and dragged it out of the store with the truck.
Later, on November 28, López Gerraughty did the same, crashing the truck into the window of a Toral gas station in Vega Baja, from where they also took an ATM machine.

Among the three incidents, an estimated $67,000+ was stolen.

Federal prosecutor Juan Carlos Reyes, from the Violent Crimes and National Security Division, is in charge of the case. The investigation was carried out by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

If found guilty, they face a minimum of 21 years in prison.
