🔺Caguas Man Jailed for alleg. Raping and Beating Woman with Stick

Local authorities reported today May 21st, 2021, on the filing of criminal charges against Luis A. Rivera Reyes, 26, for alleged Domestic violence (Law #54).

According to the police report, in events that occurred on May 19, 2021, in the Notre Dame community, San Andrés street in Caguas, the victim reported that Rivera Reyes sexually and physically assaulted her with a blunt object (stick) in different areas of her body.

The victim was transported to the Hima San Pablo Hospital in Caguas, where she was treated by the doctor on duty, and is reportedly in stable condition.

This case was consulted with the prosecutor Juan C. Goyco, who instructed to file two charges for violation of article 3.2 (aggravated abuse), article 3.3 (abuse by threat), article 3.5 (conjugal sexual assault) of Law 54 and by article 6.06 (carrying and use of knives) of the Weapons Law.

Subsequently, the evidence was presented before Judge María Rojas Delgado of the Caguas court, who issued an Order of Protection in favor of the victim.

After evaluating the evidence, cause for arrest was determined, imposing a bond of $500,000 that the man could not pay and was admitted to the Correctional Institution in Bayamón, until the preliminary hearing.
