Federal Authorities arrested a fugitive accused of murder in the state of Rhode Island in the Piñones area, reported the press officer of the United States Marshals Service in Puerto Rico, Pedro Fortier.
According to the investigation, Phillip Manners Rojas was charged on April 22 with murder charges in the first degree and violations of the law of arms.
The case that is imputed to him, according to the police report, occurred on April 16 during a drug transaction.
Manners Rojas, after the murder, left the jurisdiction and moved to Puerto Rico, where he has relatives.
The man, who was placed under arrest without incident, will be extradited to Rhode Island in the next few days.
“With this arrest, once again, we let these dangerous fugitives know that we will not tolerate them using our jurisdiction as a refuge, we will not tolerate it,” said the chief of federal sheriffs in the country, Wilmer Ocasio Ibarra, in statements. written to the press.
