Investigators will work today to establish the possible routes taken by the murderers of a man who was shot twice and his charred body was found on Sunday, on the PR-656 highway in the Playa sector of the Yeguada neighborhood, in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico.
It is anticipated that the agents will request, through a court order, the videos of the security cameras of several businesses en route to the beach area to identify the vehicle in which the body was transported.
It is also anticipated that finally the Institute of Forensic Sciences (ICF) will achieve the identification of the body to establish that it is in fact the tourist who disappeared from the La Perla neighborhood in Old San Juan on Saturday and that the pathologist Javier Serrano will deliver the autopsy where the cause and manner of death is officially certified. Yesterday the files with the dental plates delivered were not enough for a forensic dentist to identify him, so DNA tests will be used.
The girlfriend of the missing young man, Tariq Quadir Loat, 24, who is in her sixth month of pregnancy, will be able to claim his body once it is positively identified, if the mother sends a signed authorization. The young woman faced legal problems to identify him because she is not legally married to him.
The body has burns in 70% of it, but a tattoo of a zigzag with some peculiar calligraphy was visible on the left forearm, very similar to that of the young man.
The San Juan Criminal Intelligence Division is corroborating confidences in the La Perla neighborhood in the process of finding the whereabouts of the suspects. Last night an individual was intervened who allegedly pushed some agents, but was not connected to the events.
Numerous versions have emerged about how the events occurred, however, according to the investigation of the San Juan Homicide Division, last Saturday at 6:00 p.m. James V. Jackson and Quadir Loat, residents of Wilmington, Delaware, got off a 2020 Nissan Rouge bus when they were allegedly called not to use marijuana or take photos and videos in the area.
A fight broke out and the tourists were surrounded by a group of people who allegedly attacked them with a wooden pad, a 5-pound weight and even a deep fryer basket and immediately after about six shots were heard.
Jackson tried to flee in the bus and crashed about five vehicles, but managed to run to ask for help, while his friend was captured and after giving him death, it is presumed that they took him to Vega Baja to dispose of his body.
Both individuals have extensive criminal records dating back to 2011.
In the car, three cylindrical containers were occupied with a white powder and a bag with an apparent marijuana bite.
The survivor, who is a key piece in the identification of some of the individuals who confronted them, left the island.
