The Health and Police authorities of Puerto Rico intervened last night with hundreds of people who were participating in a party at a residence in Aguada in alleged violation of the Executive Order against COVID-19.
This was reported by the director of the Research Office of the Department of Health, Jesús Hernández, to the press.
The intervention had the support of officers of the Puerto Rico Police and the Guard Corps of the Department of Natural Resources.
Hernández explained that the party was called through social networks under the name of “Undrgrnd Section”, with a list of “disk jockeys” of electronic music, including an alleged “Andre Buljat” that had come from Germany, indicating that the activity began at 6:00 in the afternoon yesterday and would last until 7:30 in the morning today.
He explained that, after receiving confidences through the email investigations@salud.pr.gov, they were able to learn about the activity, which was being promoted on social networks.
“When we entered, they turned off the music and started running,” Hernández said.
He added that “people bought tickets through ATH Móvil. After payment, they would answer you back with a pin location so that people would arrive at the exact spot.
“When you arrived, they would put a wrist-band on you, as if you were entering a concert. The party was in a vacant area, near the beach, ”he added. “They did not take temperature or other safety measurements. When we entered, there were young people without masks, consuming alcoholic beverages ”.
Hernández estimated that there were about 100 people in the place, but that many of them escaped from the place through nearby wooded land or along the shore of the beach. Anyway, he explained, they were able to interview about 60 to 70 people.
The official indicated that the organizer of the event also fled the place through the beach, but that they already have information about her identity, so they hope to locate her soon to summon her. “She left her car there and she hasn’t even come back to pick it up,” she commented.
The summons of others present will depend on what the prosecutors of the Department of Justice determine.
According to Hernández, among those present there were people from the metropolitan area who work in places that have already been previously intervened by Health in violation of the Executive Order against COVID-19, such as bartenders who work in the Placita de Santurce area. .
Also, he said there were “high performance athletes who are supposed to be in a bubble because they are in Olympic competitions,” but he said he couldn’t identify them.
“From the interviews it appears that there were operators of pharmaceutical production lines and clothing manufacturing. I have to say that we have intervened with these production lines because there have been cases of people with COVID-19 and people who had contact with them were at that party, without masks, ”said Hernández.
“There were young people with academic training, nurses, law students … There were people who were supposed to be in quarantine. The fear is that now they are going to bring the virus to their families in their homes, “he said.
