The epidemiologist of the Department of Health, David Capó, confirmed this morning that dengue cases on the Island have been increasing exponentially.
This, in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic emergency (Covid-19).
In an interview with the press, Dr. Capó reported that the number of dengue cases exceed 1,000.
“So far we have reported 1,000 cases of dengue. An outbreak is being seen… this afternoon, we precisely have a meeting with the epidemiology staff, ”he revealed.
Meanwhile, he stressed that “we want to be aligned in terms of how we can put in efforts and make sure that what we are seeing that Dengue and Covid-19 is not a mixture that represents greater danger.”
Capó recommended keeping clean areas that may be the breeding areas of the Aedes aegypti mosquito.
