Local Authorities filed charges against Gabriela Santiago Marrero, 22, for allegedly sitting her 3-year-old daughter on a hot stove as a punishment for “peeing on herself” in the town of Corozal.
The little girl suffered burns on her left buttock, so she was treated at Childrens Hospital in Bayamón.
Agent Omar Quiñones attached to the Sexual Crimes Division of the Vega Baja Criminal Investigation Corps consulted the case with the prosecutor Ginny Andreu, recommending filing charges for Law #246 Intentional mistreatment and negligence.
Santiago Marrero was brought before judge Manuel A. Méndez, who found cause in the crime, setting a bond of $ 3,000, which was paid by the woman and was released under electronic supervision.
