Cuomo to sue Feds for Puerto Rico response

Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced New York’s plans to sue the federal government for not helping Puerto Rico with its hurricane recovery at the Heavenly Vision Christian Center on Jerome Avenue Sunday.

Cuomo spoke to a riled-up crowd, saying President Donald Trump and the government violated the Constitution by not providing the U.S. territory with “equal protection under law.”

The call comes just about a year after Hurricanes Irma and Maria hit the island. It also comes days after Puerto Rico Gov. Ricardo Rossello announced a new tally for the island’s death toll at 2,975. It originally was under 100. Continue Reading>>
